Ginkgo Hostel Budapest Guide Things to See Off the beaten track |
|
 |
Off the beaten track
- Make a pilgrimage to the grave of the Muslim ruler from the Middle Ages, Gul Baba. This spot has great views of the city. See the map.
- Normafa, 'forest in the city'. Take Bus 21 from Moszkva Ter (square) to its last stop and you'll arrive at the highest peak in the city. This is a nice, safe walking area.
- Communist past. Assembled in Statue Park, with a hint of irony, are dozens of the most famous statues from Hungary's communist era.
- Visit a cave without having to be a spelunker! Two caves are open to the public. Szemlohegyi barlang see map and some pictures or Palvolgyi barlang. Both sites provide English, German, French and Polish language guides.
